Here is my favorite of all the antique quilts I have ever owned. The maker was described as "a tobacco chewing midwife." She was said to have birthed a large portion of the population in the vacinity of Cub Run, Kentucky, where she lived most of her life. I spoke to two different relatives who had known her, but neither could explain, why the snakes. This is a quilt that transcends quilting. This piece is regarded as true Folk Art.
